"Fest and Nest at Roosters Rest"

What: 3-days/2-nights at Roosters Rest Cabin, including dinner at Wildflower Cafe, and  bass fishing with paddle boat.

This cottage, built for two, is the perfect romantic getaway. Located on Lookout Mountain adjacent to DeSoto State Park, the cabin is nestled on a hill overlooking two ponds. Enjoy a screened-in front porch with scenic pastoral views, watch Canadian Geese as they glide across the sky, and relax in your peaceful surroundings.

Itinerary at a Glance:

bulletDay 1: Brew yourself a fresh pot of coffee and relax on the screened in front porch. Take an evening stroll down a country road and watch Cardinals and Blue Birds at play. Be quiet…you may even spot a herd of deer as they cross the pasture to graze. Dine at a variety of restaurants on Lookout Mountain or in nearby downtown Fort Payne.
bulletDay 2: Rise to a prepared basket of fruit and pastries for a light breakfast. Plan your days’ adventures to include fishing from a stocked lake. Add to your list of things to do by hiking in nearby DeSoto State Park, viewing waterfalls within the park, and taking a scenic 23-mile drive along the rim of the Little River Canyon National Preserve. Wind down for the night with a romantic dinner at Little River Cafe.
bulletDay 3: Relax on the front porch with your cup of coffee and pastries or head over to DeSoto State Park for a hearty breakfast at the Mountain Inn Restaurant. Follow up breakfast with a hike on the Azalea Cascades Boardwalk Trail. Be sure to take a pair of binoculars on the hike for some serious bird watching and a camera to capture the beauty of this state park, rated a top 10 park in the nation. Make plans before departing to return to this secluded hideaway and enjoy more of what Lookout Mountain has to offer.
